August was a quiet month for Lucie as not only have things been a bit manic in the house but we were in Cuba for two weeks on holiday. (We even spotted numerous 3-wheelers in Cuba as well). As a result Lucie spent most of the month in the garage. She was invited to join the carnival parade in Tamworth as part of the Summer Festival though unfortunately I was unable to make it. The same weekend was littered with torrential rain pockets with bright sunny spells in between so I decided to go round the garage and take her for a spin for around the block which is about 4 miles. At the moment I do not want to get her too wet as the transfers on the side from the filming with the BBC do not look waterproof and are starting to peel slightly. She is on show at the Classic Motor Show 2010 at the NEC in Birmingham (Stand-4C165) in November so I want to keep her TV make up original until then and afterwards have some permanent vinyl transfers made up.
In addition we are half way through a house sale at the moment so I do not want to start taking things apart until we have moved ... at least then she will be in a garage attached to the house that has light and power (and fresh cups of tea) rather than in a rented one a few miles away.
On the plus side her insurance ran out on August 6th and I changed insurance companies and used Peter James Insurance as their quote was just under half what the current insurers were quoting so it was quite a saving. Better still they have added 3-wheelers.com to their web site so for anyone else who would like a quote from them for classic car insurance, if you quote “3-wheelers” in the club field you can get a discount. Click here for a quote.
