I keep meaning to take the engine out and rebuild it though every weekend something crops up and it doesn’t happen, it seems to be a task that just lingers on from month to month. That said I dod tale Lucie on a couple of journeys this month and on one trip I passed Tom Williams’ house in Tamworth and noticed there were no cars in front of it so as I had my camera, I stopped and took a quick photo. For those who don’t know, Tom Williams is the founder of Reliant and it was in the back garden of this very house that he built the first Reliant in 1934, which was then registered in 1935.
February is also the month that the vehicle tax is due though with Lucie being a historic vehicle, it is always a treat applying for the tax disc as it is free for 12 months. As the MOT is due in April, I’ll hold off with the planned engine rebuild until after that so at least I can get her through the MOT for another year first.
